AI & Innovation

AI risk is everywhere. Yours is somewhere specific.

Everyone is writing about AI risk - but almost none of it is about YOUR business. That gap is why we built the AI Disruption Risk Index.

It is hard to overstate how much is being written about AI right now, and the risk stories are arriving faster every month. A finance worker joins a video call where the CFO and every colleague on screen turns out to be a deepfake. A ransomware crew hands the work to AI agents, which breach a company in ten hours and leave behind an 80-page audit of the holes they used. This year, for the first time, the FBI's internet crime centre gave AI-enabled crime its own category in the annual numbers.

So the material is not in short supply. But how do you know what's relevant to you?

Nearly all of it covers AI 'in general', happening to businesses 'in general'. It is written for everyone, which means it is written for no one. You can read for a month and be genuinely informed about AI, but still unable to answer the only question that actually matters to your leadership team...

Are we exposed, where, and how badly?

Your biggest AI risk could be someone else's non-event

That question has no generic answer. The deepfake story means one thing if your business approves supplier payments every week, and something much smaller if it never moves money on request. Data leaking through a chatbot is existential if your value sits in a client list, and survivable if it does not. Two businesses can read the same headline and face opposite realities.

AI is not a new risk. It's a driver of them all.

There is a second thing the coverage tends to miss, and it is the one we think matters most. AI is not a new risk to bolt onto the end of your register. It is a driver moving the likelihood of all the risks you already carry.

The fraud entry you scored two years ago assumed a forger needed skill. The phishing entry assumed bad grammar would give the game away. The data entry assumed leaking information took effort. Those entries are still on the register, still marked as covered, and the assumptions underneath them have been moving without anyone updating the paperwork. The exposure is not that AI created something new. It is that your existing picture has aged, on paper that still looks current.

Which is why we built the AI Disruption Index

We wanted the distance between "AI is risky" and "here is what it means for us" to be minutes, not a consulting engagement or extensive internal research.

The AI Disruption Index starts from your business: your size, your industry, your location, and the objectives you are actually trying to hit this year. From there it analyses which risks AI is driving against those objectives, ranks them by how hard each one is being hit, and drafts a safeguard for every risk it raises. Instead of a generic score that tells you in non-specific terms "to worry", you get a ranked, specific picture you can put in front of your leadership and act on.

And it is free, deliberately. Sign up, answer the questions, and your Index takes about ten minutes to generate.

General coverage tells you the weather. The Index tells you what is heading for your street.

And if you would rather read the detail first, our guide to the real risks of AI for a business covers the named risks one at a time.
