Where we've been and why are we here?
The name Drova is inspired by the Australian term "Drover," trusted by many to guide and move valuable resources through challenging landscapes to safer, more prosperous destinations.
Like a Drover, Drova is committed to helping you navigate complex challenges, mitigate risks, and proactively move towards better outcomes. We are here to serve you with trust and reliability - like a drover offers those who entrust their resources to them.
Drova’s journey started with an M&A deal. And a different company entirely, called Ansarada.
SaaS platform Ansarada was born out of a mission to make life easier for business leaders and dealmakers around the world. Founders Andrew Slavin, Sam Riley, and Rachel Riley started the company out of the need for simple, intuitive data room software that would help dealmakers and business leaders reduce risk, govern information, and generate value.
Fast-forward two decades and 30,000+ M&A deals later, and Ansarada grew into a publicly-listed, multimillion dollar entity. Their software is relied upon by companies, advisors, and governments around the globe for securely managing critical information and collaboration in high-stakes processes.
Today, the Ansarada founders have sold their shares and started a new venture called Drova.
They took the opportunity to step away from the world of Deals and go all in on helping companies thrive in their growth journeys, achieving greater levels of resilience and sustainability as they go.
Purpose-led, at every level
Over the past 20 years, we have learned a lot that will inform our next chapter.
We learned that we love helping people. Whether it’s through our products, investing time understanding customers, solving problems and creating opportunities for our team – we’ve always been here to serve. If it isn’t purpose-driven, it’s pointless.
We learned that the bigger we grew, the more time we spent reacting to governance, risk & compliance requirements. We understood that for us – like our customers – playing catch up took time away from core business operations and strategy. We wanted to stay several steps ahead, but doing that wasn’t easy. We also saw the devastating effects neglecting risk, compliance and now, sustainability had on valuations in M&A and capital raising deals. Not acting on them is like a hidden tax that companies pay heavily for in a deal.
We learned that there are inherent complexities and challenges in risk, compliance, and sustainability management that require new approaches, and growth mindsets. Business leaders and risk managers today are very much driven by regulation and compliance. There's the weight of change management too. These drivers are more fear based than opportunity based; that’s understandable, but it is not optimal.
The future of business
Any meaningful consideration paid to the future of business will arrive at a conclusion that companies will be operating with greater levels of resilience and sustainability. However, sustainability is all too often misunderstood and viewed very narrowly - often as an environmental concern - but it needs to be considered in the fullest sense of the word.
Simple steps, radical rewards
Increasing performance in sustainability and unlocking its potential simply means improving how four business fundamentals are led and managed: Strategy, Metrics & Targets, Risk Management and Governance.
